As per reports, the Southern Water contractors are scheduled to close a section of Romsey Road, an arterial route in and out of Southampton, Hampshire, for two weeks, which began on the evening of Wednesday (29 January) and is expected to continue until 12 February.
• The closure will affect the stretch between Bakers Drove and Horns Drove, which is necessary to carry out urgent repairs to a burst water main. Southern Water has confirmed that the water supply to the area will not be affected during the works.
• A traffic diversion route will be in place, and the company is working in collaboration with Hampshire County Council Highways and Southampton City Council Highways to minimize traffic disruption.
