As per reports, industrial workers in Finland initiated strikes at various industrial plants on Monday (27 January), demanding higher wages. The protests are expected to continue for at least six days. While staff have resumed work, their performance has been significantly limited.
• The strikes, initiated by trade unions, aim to secure a 10 percent wage increase over the next two years. The actions involve workers from approximately 50 companies, including Nokia, Metso, ABB, UPM, Kone, Orion, and others. Additionally, shipping activities at the country’s ports have been halted.
• In addition, Finnair pilots began a protest in December 2024. It is noted that if an agreement is not reached, the strikes could continue until 14 February.
