As per reports, following are the updates on Storm Eowyn as of Sunday (26 January):
• A yellow alert for wind has been imposed across Northern Ireland on Sunday (26 January), with around 75,000 residents still without electricity supply.
• More than 100 schools are damaged in Northern Ireland.
• As Storm Eowyn’s intensity has reduced, meteorologists have warned of Storm Herminia to cause sustained rainfall across parts of the United Kingdom, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
• The intensity of Storm Herminia is expected to be less than Storm Eowyn, while there is a possibility of winds to reach up to 60-70 miles per hour (mph).
• There is a yellow warning for wind in South East England, South West England, Wales, North West England, southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland until 1500 hours on Sunday (26 January), and is expected to continue until Tuesday (28 January), after which the forecast is expected to change.
• Several railway lines and flight operations have been disrupted in Cornwall, Par, Newquay, Devon, and nearby areas.
• Rainfall with a risk of flooding is expected in England and Wales on Monday (27 January).
