• Western Australia: A severe heatwave warning is issued for the South Interior District and is valid until Friday (10 January). The maximum temperature is predicted to be in the low to mid-forties, while overnight temperatures are in the low to high twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to develop during the week and persist into the weekend. Additional locations likely to be impacted include Warburton.
• South Australia: A severe heatwave warning is issued for the North West Pastoral District and is valid until Friday (10 January). The maximum temperatures are predicted in the high thirties to low forties, while overnight temperatures are in the mid-twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to develop over the North West Pastoral district from Wednesday (08 January), and potentially extend across northern parts of the North East Pastoral district during the weekend.
