As per reports, following are the updates on the farmers’ protest as of Monday (06 January):

• After the mahapanchayat on Saturday (04 January), farmer leaders have announced nationwide protests against the Central Government on Friday (10 January).
• The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a contempt petition against Punjab Chief Secretary and Director General of Police for non-compliance of an order directing medical aid to farmer leader Jajgit Singh Dallewal.
• Entering day 42 of the hunger strike, Dallewal’s health has further deteriorated.
