As per reports, the German Weather Services (DWD) issued strong gust warnings across Germany through Thursday (19 December).
• A yellow warning has been issued for storm gusts across all 16 federal states, including Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, and Thuringia. Wind speeds of approximately 55 km/h are anticipated from the northeast, with gusts potentially reaching up to 65 km/h in exposed areas. The warning will remain in effect from 0530 hours (local time) on Thursday (19 December) until 2130 hours (local time) on Thursday (19 December).
• An orange warning has been issued in the northernmost parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein and in parts of Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, and Hesse. Gale-force gusts are expected, with speeds ranging from 60 km/h to 80 km/h from the northeast. In exposed areas, gusts may reach up to 80 km/h. The warning will remain in effect until 2230 hours (local time) on Thursday (19 December).
