As per reports, a shooting incident took place on the 309 Road in New Zealand’s remote Coromandel Peninsula at approximately 1400 hours (local time) on Friday (13 December). The shooting left one person dead, while one person was airlifted to an Auckland City Hospital with critical injuries.

Authorities have closed the 309 Road between Coromandel town and Whitianga, and are investigating the incident. Further details are awaited.
