As per reports, the City of Richardson, Texas, issued a Boil Water Notice for residents and businesses in its southwest region (767 water zone) following a drop in water pressure due to an equipment malfunction on Wednesday (06 November).
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has mandated that all customers in the affected area boil water for two minutes before consumption, especially to safeguard vulnerable populations such as children, seniors, and immunocompromised individuals.
• Approximately 17,000 customers, including residential areas, schools, and businesses, are impacted. Five Richardson Independent School District campuses will close on Thursday (07 November) due to water safety concerns.
• The city is providing clean water at a distribution centre at Heights Recreation Centre (711 W Arapaho Rd) between 0700 to 2200 hours (local time).
