As per reports, farmers’ outfits and unions in Odisha are set to take out statewide rallies on Tuesday (26 November), protesting against the alleged corporatization of agriculture. The protest is going to be led by leaders like Suresh Kumar Panigrahy and Ramchandra Khuntia. Their demands include ensuring a justified Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers, alongside demanding for debt relief as well as an end to forced land acquisitions of land for farmers in Odisha.
The protests, termed “Chetabani Samabesh,” will be held in Bhubaneswar and in all 30 district sub-divisions. These gatherings are intended against both the state and central governments to meet farmers’ concerns and demands. Preparations for the rallies are underway as part of a larger nationwide event, and further details about the specific locations of the protest are awaited.
