The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather warnings for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in several districts of Maharashtra on Saturday (28 September).

• An orange alert for very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning has been issued in Palghar, Raigad, Nashik, Nandurbar, and Dhule.
• Meanwhile, a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning has been issued across the rest of the region including Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Thane, and Pune, (except Ahmednagar, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Hingoli, and Nanded).
