As per reports, the accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case succumbed to his injuries after being encountered by the police on Monday (23 September). He attempted to shoot the police while he was being taken to Thane for investigation. During the cross fire, an officer was injured as well. The accused was brought to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Thane.
