Typhoon Bebinca to approach China on Sunday (15 September); emergency warnings issued - datasurfr

As per reports, the Ministry of Emergency Management informed that Typhoon Bebinca is expected to make landfall along the coast from Taizhou City in Zhejiang to Qidong City in Jiangsu between Sunday (15 September) night and Monday (16 September) morning, bringing heavy rainfall.

• China’s Ministry of Water Resources issued a Level-IV emergency response to flooding on Saturday (14 September) for Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. Strong rainfall from the approaching Typhoon Bebinca.
• The ministry forecasts that water levels in some medium and minor rivers in these areas may exceed warning thresholds.
• Moreover, all flights at Shanghai’s two main airports would be cancelled from 2000 hours on Sunday (15 September) beacuse of the typhoon.
• The traffic capacity of Shanghai’s Pudong and Hongqiao airports will be decreased on Sunday (15 September).
• The China Meteorological Administration has issued an orange typhoon warning (the second highest level on a four-tier scale), advising of strong winds over the East China Sea and coastal areas of northeastern Zhejiang, Shanghai, and southeastern Jiangsu and heavy rainfall across parts of southeastern Anhui, southern Jiangsu, Shanghai, and northern Zhejiang.
