As per reports, weather alert has been issued across several federal states in Austria due to a cold front bringing heavy rainfall and snowfall at higher altitudes on Thursday (12 September). Conditions will remain severe, with potential snowfall down to 800 meters on Saturday (14 September).

Tyrol, Salzburg, Styria, and Carinthia are under a red alert, with large amounts of rainfall expected. Snowfall is forecast in the northern Alps, with the snow line dropping to 1000–1300 meters.
