The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur districts on Saturday (07 September).

Additionally, the authorities have warned of low to moderate flash flood risk in parts of Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts till Sunday (08 September).

• As per the state emergency operation centre, eighteen power and one water supply scheme have also been affected in the state.
• A total of 157 people have died in rain-related incidents during the ongoing monsoon season, from 27 June till 06 September and the state has suffered losses of up to INR 1,303 crore.
