As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flood advisory for several counties in southeast Louisiana, valid until 1130 hours local time on Friday (30 August).
• As per the advisory, excessive rainfall is expected to result in flooding.
• The advisory is expected to affect the counties in southeast Louisiana, including Parishes, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Charles.
• At 0830 hours (local time), Doppler radar indicated that heavy rainfall associated with thunderstorms is occurring. Minor flooding is anticipated to commence shortly in the advisory area, particularly in regions with inadequate drainage. Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected. This increased rainfall will likely lead to minor flooding.
