As per reports, the following are the latest developments pertaining to the Israel Hamas war as of Tuesday (16 July):

Reportedly, Israel’s Upper Galilee region came under a heavy barrage of dozens of rockets on Monday (15 July) night after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) struck a Hezbollah warehouse and compound in South Lebanon, killing three operatives

• Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched attacks on several vessels in the Red Sea, including against an Israel-owned ship, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Monday (15 July). Multiple attacks were lauched against MT Bentley I, a Panama-flagged, Israel-owned, Monaco-operated tanker vessel in the Red Sea which was carrying vegetable oil from Russia to China. No damage or injuries were reported.

• Separately, the Houthis attacked MT Chios Lion, a Liberian-flagged, Marshall Islands-owned, Greek-operated crude oil tanker with a USV in the Red Sea. The USV caused damage, but MT Chios Lion has not requested assistance. No injuries were reported.

• The United Nations stated on Monday (15 July) that it will start bringing in more armored vehicles and personal protection equipment for its humanitarian aid operations in the Gaza Strip after receiving approval from Israeli authorities.
• Senior officials from the Hamas terror group, and Fatah, the Palestinian faction that governs the Palestinian Authority, have agreed to meet in Beijing in July in a renewed bid for reconciliation.

• Reports indicate that an alleged Israeli drone struck a car on Monday (15 July) near the Lebanon-Syria border, which killed a prominent Syrian businessman, Mohammed Baraa Katerji who had been sanctioned by the United States and was close to the government of Syria’s President Bashar Assad.

• Siren warnings were reported throughout Upper Galilee, particularly Kiryat Shmona on Monday (15 July).

• The European Council has approved sanctions against five Israeli individuals and three entities over serious and systematic human rights abuses against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

• Three civilians were killed and three were wounded in an Israeli strike on a building in Lebanon’s town of Bint Jbeil on Monday (15 July).
