As per reports, students of Rajshahi University (RU) have blocked the railway tracks protesting the restoration of quota system and quota reform on Monday (08 July). As a result, rail communication between Rajshahi and the rest of the country has been snapped.

The students took position on the railway line under the Meherchandi flyover adjacent to the university around 1200 hours. They also stopped traffic on a bypass road.
