As per reports, a freight train derailment early Tuesday (18 June) morning has resulted in the closure of the route between Ecublens-Rue and Lucens. Replacement buses are currently servicing the route.
• The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) expects the disruption to continue at least until 1200 hours local time on Tuesday (18 June). Train traffic between Palézieux and Payerne in the canton of Vaud is affected as the derailment occurred near a level crossing. Road traffic through the area is also restricted.
• The R8 and R9 connections between Ecublens-Rue and Lucens are cancelled, with replacement bus services operational since approximately 0645 hours local time in Tuesday (18 June). Travellers between Lausanne and Payerne have been urged to consider alternative routes via Yverdon-Les-Bains.
