According to the All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 0915 hours, on Saturday (25 May), following is the latest information pertaining to the Deep Depression over East-central Bay of Bengal:

• The Depression over East-central Bay of Bengal moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 15 kmph during past six hours, and has intensified into a Deep Depression and lay centered at 0530 hours of Saturday (25 May) over East-central Bay of Bengal, about 490 km south of Khepupara (Bangladesh), about 380 km south-southeast of Sagar Islands (West Bengal) and 530 km south-southeast of Canning (West Bengal).
• It is very likely to continue to move north-northeastwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over east-central Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours. Subsequently, it would move nearly northwards, intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm by Sunday (26 May) morning.
• Continuing to move nearly northwards, thereafter it is very likely to cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Sagar Island and Khepupara by Sunday (26 May) midnight as a Severe Cyclonic Storm with wind speed of 110-120 gusting to 135 kmph.
• Storm surge of about one meter above astronomical tide is likely to inundate low lying areas of coastal West Bengal and 03-04 m above astronomical tide likely to inundate low lying areas of coastal Bangladesh around the time of landfall.
• Heavy rainfall warning is active for following regions:

1. West Bengal: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places is likely over coastal districts of West Bengal on Sunday (26 May) and Monday (27 May) with isolated extremely heavy rainfall over coastal districts of West Bengal on Sunday (26 May). Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places likely over eastern districts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on Monday (27 May).

2. Odisha: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall likely over North Coastal Odisha on Saturday (25 May) and Sunday (26 May).

3. Northeastern States: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over Mizoram, Tripura and South Manipur on Sunday (26 May) and over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura on Monday (27 May). Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over Assam, Meghalaya on Monday (27 May), Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday (28 May) and Mizoram and Tripura on Monday (27 May).

4. Andaman Islands: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places over north Andaman Islands on Saturday (25 May).
