As per reports, Network Rail has confirmed that the line between Airdrie and Bathgate is expected to be closed all day on Monday (22 April) due to a sinkhole between Caldercruix and Drumgelloch. Due to the sinkhole, services passing through the area have been alternated.

• Services between Airdrie and Balloch will run as normal, however, services from Helensburgh to Edinburgh – which pass through Glasgow Queen Street – will terminate at Airdrie – these services will run half-hourly during peak times and hourly between peaks.
• Meanwhile, services from Edinburgh to Helensburgh will terminate at Bathgate – again, these will run half-hourly during peak time and hourly between peaks.
• The direct services between Milngavie and Edinburgh have also had to be cancelled due to the issue, but trains are still running between Milngavie and Glasgow.
