According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert for thunderstorm and lightning has been issued for Saturday (20 April).

• The alert is in place for Sunday (21 April) as well. The IMD warns of a trough/wind discontinuity from a cyclonic circulation over Marathwada to south Tamil Nadu, increasing the likelihood of thunderstorm activity. While Pune is under a yellow alert, the intensity may exceed normal but not reach the severity of an orange alert.
• Thunderstorm warnings have been extended to districts including Chandrapur, Kolhapur, Wardha, Yavatmal, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Satara, Sangli, and Solapur among others on Saturday (20 April) as well.
