As per reports, following are the latest updates on the farmers’ Delhi Chalo protest as of Saturday (17 February):

• Over 650 buses were halted in Ludhiana on Friday (16 February) amid widespread protests and road closures. Several trade unions protested at bus stops forcing buses to retreat. Operations are expected to normalise on Saturday (17 February), however, there remains a possibility of continued sporadic protests and subsequent disruptions.
• BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) has announced that it will support the ongoing protests at Shambhu and Khanauri borders between Punjab and Haryana and will hold protests outside the residences of Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar at Abohar, former CM Capt Amarinder Singh’s at Patiala and BJP leader Kewal Singh Dhillon’s at Barnala on Saturday (17 February) and Sunday (18 February).
• The farmers will meet Union ministers Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal, and Nityanand Rai on Sunday (18 February) evening. Meanwhile, the protesters have decided to remain stationed at Shambhu (Punjab-Haryana) border.
• Protesting farmers at the Shambhu border have created makeshift arrangements for sleeping, medical emergencies and other essential services.
• Major traffic congestion was reported on Akshardham-Ghazipur road in Delhi amid police barricading at Ghazipur border.
