As per reports, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) undertook excavation of the western side of the Bani Suheila cemetery, near Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The excavation was undertaken as the military forces claimed that a Hamas tunnel ran directly through the site and that the militants attacked Israeli troops from here. The Israeli military has so far destroyed at least 16 cemeteries in Gaza since the beginning of the war.

• There have been reports of anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian discrimination and rise in hate-attacks in the US, wherein the cases have escalated by 180 percent since the beginning of the attacks on 07 October 2023. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) stated on Monday (29 January) that it has received 3,578 complaints during the last three months of 2023, amid an ongoing wave of anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian hate.
• The framework for a truce to fighting in Gaza that has been agreed to by Israeli, US, Egyptian, and Qatari officials is set to be delivered to Hamas, as fears grow that fighting in the enclave could spark a regional war. The measure comes after CIA director Bill Burns travelled to Paris, France for high-level talks with Israeli, Egyptian and Qatari officials. The framework for the deal might result in a permanent ceasefire in upcoming months.
• Israel is reportedly planning to escalate troop activity in North Gaza, the decision comes as Hamas is attempting to re-establish its military presence in northern Gaza.
• Israel launched an assault on Gaza City on Tuesday (30 January), while Washington is to undertake all necessary actions to defend its troops after the attacks carried out in Jordan. The move comes after three US service members were killed and 34 wounded in a drone attack by Iran-backed militants.
