As per reports, a magnitude 4.4 earthquake has been recorded in the North Pacific Ocean, 117 km southwest of Tapachula de Cordova y Ordoñez, Chiapas at 0039 hours (local time) on Tuesday (09 January).

• The earthquake has been recorded at a depth of 44 km.
• The earthquake occurred at a distance of 86 km southwest of San José el Hueyate (Mazatan, Chiapas), 92 km southwest of Puerto Madero (Tapachula, Chiapas), and 97 km southwest of Aquiles Serdan (Mazatan, Chiapas).
