The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Maharashtra on Thursday (03 September), as per the District-wise forecast PDF document issued at 1800 hours (local time) on Wednesday (02 September).

• Forecast: An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, very likely to occur at one or two places in Amravati and Gondia.
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour at isolated places in Jalgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal.
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for moderate rainfall between 05 to 15 millimetres per hour, thunderstorms, and lightning in Amravati, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli. The alert is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Thursday (03 September).
