According to reports, a 15-year-old student allegedly brought a 9mm pistol into Wachirapragarn Wittayakom School in Nakhon Chum Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, and discharged the weapon at approximately 1400 hours (local time) on Wednesday (02 September).
• The incident triggered panic among students, teachers and parents before the student was persuaded to surrender and taken into police custody. Initial reports indicate that no casualties or injuries have been confirmed, although authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
• Local reports indicated that the student may have fired multiple shots inside the school and was allegedly searching for an individual on campus. However, details regarding the motive, the number of shots fired, and the exact sequence of events remain unconfirmed and are under police investigation.
