Prediction is pattern, not prophecy
Useful predictive risk analytics narrows uncertainty — it tells you that this corridor, in this season, with these indicators, historically escalates. It does not name tomorrow’s incident, and any vendor claiming otherwise is selling something else.
Good inputs beat clever models
Twenty thousand sources with analyst validation outperforms a sophisticated model fed thin data. Invest in collection and curation before you invest in architecture.
Give the output somewhere to go
A forecast that lands in a dashboard changes nothing. A forecast that raises an exposure score, triggers a pre-trip flag or opens a continuity review changes decisions.
Keep a human in the loop
Analysts catch the cases where the pattern is wrong — a protest permit withdrawn, a strike called off, a cyclone that turns. That judgement is the difference between an alert people trust and one they mute.
