BNP foundation anniversary programmes scheduled across Bangladesh from Tuesday (01 September)

As per reports, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will organise a five-day programme from Tuesday (01 September) to Saturday (05 September) to mark its 48th foundation anniversary, with programmes and greetings planned across Bangladesh.

The details are as follows:

• On Tuesday (01 September) at 0600 hours (local time), party flags will be hoisted at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan and at party offices across the country.
• At 0900 hours (local time) on the same day, BNP Chairman and Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman, along with the Acting Secretary General, central leaders, leaders of affiliated and organisational bodies and party members, will offer prayers and lay floral wreaths at the graves of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman (Bir Uttam) and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
• On Saturday (05 September) at 1500 hours (local time), a discussion meeting titled “The Purpose and Significance of BNP’s Founding” will be held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh auditorium, with Tarique Rahman attending as the Chief Guest alongside senior party leaders and distinguished intellectuals.
• Commemorative posters will also be published, while tree plantation and fish release programmes have been adopted as part of the anniversary observance. BNP district and metropolitan units across Bangladesh will organise discussion meetings and other programmes at convenient times on Tuesday (01 September).
