As per reports, US forces struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday (30 August), after Iranian forces were reportedly observed preparing to launch rockets carrying sea mines into the waterway.
• Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) subsequently reported retaliatory ballistic missile attacks against US military facilities at King Hussein Air Base and Al Azraq Air Base in Jordan.
• The IRGC claimed that the attacks targeted technical infrastructure, maintenance facilities and fighter aircraft positions. Jordanian authorities reportedly intercepted eight missiles that entered its airspace.
