As per reports, traders have closed sections of businesses and are protesting against a revised customs benchmark introduced by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in Nairobi Central Business District on Friday (28 August).
• Demonstrators assembled in Nyamakima and began advancing towards Times Tower, the KRA headquarters, through Haile Selassie Avenue.
• Authorities have deployed police patrols along Tom Mboya Street and surrounding areas, while businesses along Moi Avenue and in other commercial areas have remained closed.
• Further, traders from import dependent commercial areas, including Gikomba Market, are participating in the protest.
