As per reports, the standard pico y placa vehicle restriction scheme for private cars and motorcycles remains in effect in Cali for Wednesday (26 August) applying according to the last digit of each vehicle’s licence plate.
• Vehicles with licence plates ending in two and three for public transport and one and two for individual vehicles are restricted to circulate in Cali on Wednesday (26 August).
• The restriction operates in two daily time bands. The restrictions runs from 0600 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) to 1900 hours local time (0000 hours UTC on 27 August) on Wednesday (26 August). For public transportation vehicles, restrictions runs from 0500 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) to 2200 hours local time (0300 hours UTC on 27 August) on Wednesday (26 August).
• Vehicles exempt from the restrictions include Emergency, Official, Diplomatic and Consular Service, transport people with disabilities or reduced mobility, ybrids and electric vehicles and motorcycles.
• Fine for violating the Pico y Placa amounts to a fine equivalent to 15 days of the current minimum wage. Currently, the daily minimum wage is COP 47,450, so the penalty amounts to COP 711,750.
