The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a magnitude 4.5 earthquake approximately 44 kilometers northeast of Ruteng, Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, at 0557 hours (local time) on Monday (24 August).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of eight kilometers.
