Daily weather update for Maharashtra on Sunday (23 August)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Maharashtra as per the District-wise forecast PDF document issued at 1335 hours (local time) on Sunday (23 August).

• Forecast: An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in most of the places for Bhandara, Gadchiroli and Gondia on Sunday (23 August).
• Forecast: A yellow alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour for Chandrapur, Nagpur, Wardha, Latur, Nanded, Hingoli, the Ghats of Satara, the Ghats of Kolhapur and the Ghats of Pune on Sunday (23 August). No alert has been issued for the remaining districts on Sunday (23 August).
• Nowcast: A yellow alert has been issued for light to moderate rainfall, light thunderstorms and surface winds of less than 40 kilometres per hour, along with low cloud and ground lightning for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Osmanabad, Beed, Latur, Parbhani, Nanded, Hingoli, Yavatmal, Washim, Akola, Amaravati, Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli and Chandrapura, valid till 1900 hours (local time) on Sunday (23 August). No alert has been issued for the remaining districts, valid till 1900 hours (local time) on Sunday (23 August).
