As per reports, the Samyukta Horata Karnataka and the Bhoomi Hitarakshana Sangha of the Byramangala-Kanchugaranahalli gram panchayat limits have called for a march to Vidhana Soudha (Legislative House) in Bengaluru on Tuesday (25 August).

• The protest has been scheduled to demand the cancellation of the proposed Bidadi Township Project and an immediate halt to the acquisition of fertile, irrigated agricultural land for the project.
• Farmers have also expressed dissatisfaction over delays in the government’s proposed review process and are seeking stronger measures to protect agricultural land and livelihoods.
• The organisations appealed to farmers, workers, women, students and youth from across Karnataka to participate in the protest and help protect agricultural land from real estate interests.
• Leaders of various farmers, workers, women’s and Dalit organisations have also extended their support.
