As per reports, entry of heavy vehicles have been prohibited in Dhamtari district to curb road accidents. The district administration has stated that the route from Dhamtari to Bhakhara will be restricted for heavy vehicles from 0600-2200 hours IST. Heavy vehicles going towards Raipur and other cities will have to use the National Highway (NH) instead of the Bhakhara route.

The administration believes that this arrangement will reduce the pressure of heavy vehicles on the Bhakhara route and the movement for local people, two-wheeler drivers and small vehicles will become safer and easier. Traffic indicators have been installed at Arjun Mod (Bhakhara), Khapri North (Basti), and Atal Chowk.
