As per reports, heavy rainfall led to waterlogging, landslides, and debris accumulation along the Ramsar-Nalagarh road near Kumharhatti, causing significant traffic disruptions on Wednesday (19 August).
Following are the details:
• The blockage of a culvert drainage system near Kumharhatti caused water and mud to collect on the roadway, reportedly halting vehicular movement for approximately an hour.
• At approximately 1100 hours (local time), a truck was reported stuck in mud on the same stretch, leading to a total halt of vehicular movement and long vehicle queues on both sides of the corridor.
• The road closure reportedly affected daily commuters, school and college students, office employees traveling to Nalagarh, bus passengers, and commercial vehicle drivers.
• Local residents demanded immediate administrative intervention to deploy heavy machinery, pull out the stranded truck, clear mud and debris, and repair the damaged culvert and drainage infrastructure.
