Rainfall and thunderstorms to affect southern and eastern Senegal from Wednesday (19 August) to Thursday (20 August)

As per reports, the National Agency of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (ANACIM) forecasts continued rainfall and thunderstorms across parts of southern and central Senegal on Wednesday (19 August), with unsettled weather expected to persist across some areas into Thursday (20 August).

• Rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast across Kaffrine, Fatick, Kaolack, Kolda, Ziguinchor, Bignona, Cap Skirring, and Sédhiou from 1200 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) to 2100 hours local time (2100 hours UTC) on Wednesday (19 August).
• For areas across across Diourbel, Thiès, Tivaouane, and Mbour, rainfall is expected on Wednesday (19 August), while the bulletin, issued by the ANACIM does not indicate thunderstorms for these locations during the specified period.
• Further, rainfall is forecast across Tambacounda, Koumpentoum, Goudiry, Bakel, and Kédougou, expected mainly during the night and morning hours, from 2100 hours local time (2100 hours UTC) on Wednesday (19 August) to 1200 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) on Thursday (20 August).
