India Metro City Weather Update – Sunday (16 August)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the indicated weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of on Sunday (16 August).

• Mumbai and Pune – No warning has been issued in either the Forecast or the Nowcast for Mumbai. For Pune, no warning has been issued in the Forecast, while a yellow alert for light rainfall measuring less than five millimetres per hour has been issued in the Nowcast, valid until 0700 hours (local time).
• Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram: No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast for Delhi and Gurugram. For Noida, no warning has been issued in the Forecast, while a yellow alert for thunder with light to moderate rainfall and low cloud-to-ground lightning with a probability of less than 30 percent has been issued in the Nowcast, valid until 0730 hours (local time).
• Bengaluru – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Hyderabad – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, and squall has been issued in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for heavy rainfall measuring seven to 11 centimetres, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour has been issued in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – No warning has been issued in the forecast, while a yellow alert for light rainfall of less than five millimeters per hour has been issued in the nowcast for both cities, valid until 0700 hours (local time).
