The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported a 4.4 magnitude earthquake approximately 91.7 kilometers south-southeast of Pingtung County Hall, at 0354 hours (local time) on Thursday (13 August).

The earthquake was reported at a depth of 40.2 kilometers.
