As per reports, the Metropolitan City of Messina has revised traffic restrictions on Provincial Road (SP) 161 dell’Alcara in Militello Rosmarino for celebrations honouring San Biagio, the town’s patron saint, from 23 August.

• The closures of the SP 161 previously scheduled for 18, 20, and 21 August have been cancelled. However, the closure scheduled for 23 August has been modified and will now take place from 1800 hours to 0000 hours local time (1600 hours UTC–2200 hours UTC).
• Restrictions on 24 and 25 August remain unchanged, with the road closed from 0900 hours until 0300 hours local time the following morning local time (0700 hours UTC–0100 hours UTC). The measures will affect the section of the SP 161 between kilometer 3+000 and kilometer 8+800.
• During the closure periods, traffic will be diverted in both directions via SP 161 Bis “Ferretta–San Piero”, up to the junction with SP 161 and vice versa. The alternative route is intended to maintain connectivity while the restrictions are in effect.
