As per reports, a large gathering of devotees was recorded at Baba Harigiri Dham in Begusarai on Monday (10 August), on the occasion of the second Monday of Sawan (sacred month of the Hindu calendar).

The details are as follows:

• Thousands of devotees arrived at the temple to perform Jalabhishek (ritual offering of water to the deity), with long queues extending from the temple complex towards the main road.
• A large number of Kanwariyas (pilgrims undertaking the Kanwar pilgrimage) carrying holy water from Simaria Ganga Ghat began arriving at Harigiri Dham from around 0100 hours (local time), and the number of pilgrims continued to increase as the morning progressed.
• The temple doors were opened for general devotees at around 0300 hours (local time) after the official puja (religious ceremony) was completed. Following the opening, devotees entered the temple in queues to perform Jalabhishek (ritual offering of water to the deity) of Baba Harigiri Dham.
• Barricades and designated queues were arranged to regulate the crowd, although the continued increase in the number of devotees resulted in long queues at several locations. Police and administrative teams remained deployed to maintain the orderly movement of devotees and manage entry and exit routes.
• The officials inspected various locations and urged devotees to proceed in an orderly manner. Administrative officials and police personnel continuously monitored the temple premises, entry and exit routes and provided instructions to deployed personnel in response to the crowd pressure.
• Seva camps (volunteer service camps) were established at various locations by social organisations, local residents and volunteers to assist devotees. These camps provided water, sherbet (sweetened drink) and other amenities, offering relief to pilgrims amid the heat and humidity.
• A large number of police personnel, including female police personnel, were deployed inside the Dham premises and surrounding areas to manage security, traffic and crowd movement. The administration appealed to devotees to remain patient and enter the temple only through the designated queues.
