As per reports, authorities across Salem district and Mettur, Tamil Nadu, have deployed heightened security and public safety measures on Monday (03 August) for the traditional Aadi Perukku festival.

Thousands of devotees and tourists are expected to visit riverbanks and water bodies across Mettur, Kalvadangam, Poolampatti, and surrounding areas to take ritual baths in the Cauvery River.
