As per reports, multiple red, orange and yellow weather alerts remain active across 20 provinces in Argentina as of 0800 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) on Friday (31 July).

• Reports indicate that a red alert for extreme cold covers western Santa Cruz, while yellow alerts remain active across the rest of Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego. Temperatures under the red alert may create hazardous conditions, including for personnel not classified as vulnerable.
• An orange snowfall alert covers mountainous areas of Mendoza, while yellow snowfall alerts cover mountainous areas of Neuquén and Río Negro. Persistent snowfall may result in accumulations between 20 and 50 centimetres, with locally higher totals and possible rain and snow in lower-altitude areas.
• Orange Zonda wind alerts cover Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja and Catamarca. Sustained wind speeds between 45 and 60 kilometres per hour and gusts reaching 100 kilometres per hour may cause reduced visibility, rapidly rising temperatures and very low relative humidity.
• Orange storm alerts cover western Buenos Aires province and southern Santa Fe and Entre Ríos. Isolated strong to severe storms may produce intense rainfall, hail, lightning and gusts exceeding 90 kilometres per hour. Rainfall accumulations between 40 and 80 millimetres are expected, with locally higher totals possible.
• Yellow wind alerts cover San Luis, La Pampa, Córdoba, La Rioja, Entre Ríos, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Corrientes, Tucumán, Chaco, Salta and Jujuy. Northerly winds between 30 and 50 kilometres per hour and gusts reaching 70 kilometres per hour are expected.
