As per reports, Algerian Civil Protection authorities reported on Tuesday (28 July) that 42 of the 43 recorded forest and vegetation fires across the country had been extinguished.

• Reports indicate that firefighting operations are continuing at the remaining wildfire in the municipality of Qanoua in Skikda Province, as of Wednesday (29 July).
• The fire is affecting the areas of Ikaroun, Lamnaqesh and Wadi Bousaleh.
• The authorities have deployed extensive ground and aerial firefighting resources to contain the remaining hotspot and prevent further spread.
