India Metro City Weather Update – Tuesday (28 July)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the indicated weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of Tuesday (28 July).

• Mumbai and Pune – No colour-coded warning has been issued in Mumbai and Pune; however, light to moderate rainfall is expected. No warning has been issued in the nowcast, valid till 0700 hours (local time).
• Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram: A yellow alert has been issued for a cloudy sky, with very light to light rainfall, becoming moderate during early morning to noon and in the evening and at night. A yellow alert for light-to-moderate rainfall spells with thunderstorms has been issued in the nowcast for Noida, valid till 0540 hours (local time).
• Bengaluru – A yellow alert for strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No warning has been issued in the nowcast, valid till 0700 hours (local time).
• Hyderabad – No warning has been issued in the forecast. No warning has been issued in the nowcast, valid till 0700 hours (local time).
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning and squall has been issued in the forecast. No warning has been issued in the nowcast, valid till 0700 hours (local time).
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning and squall has been issued in the forecast. No warning has been issued in the nowcast, valid till 0700 hours (local time).
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning and squall has been issued in the forecast for Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Additionally, a yellow alert for light rainfall with thunderstorms and strong surface winds up to 40 kmph has been issued in the nowcast for both cities, valid till 0700 hours (local time).
