As per reports, one lane of the M25 anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 04 (Orpington) and Junction 03 (Swanley Interchange) remains closed as of Monday (27 July) following a lorry fire that occurred at approximately 2200 hours local time (2100 hours UTC) on Sunday (26 July).
• According to National Highways, specialist contractors are continuing to clear a large fuel spill caused by the incident while vehicle recovery operations remain underway.
• The affected lane is expected to stay closed until around 2200 hours local time (2100 hours UTC) on Monday (27 July), after which overnight resurfacing works will require two lanes to be closed. Although no significant delays have been reported so far, traffic conditions may deteriorate as recovery and repair operations continue.
• The Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed two fire engines and a bulk water carrier to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
