Strike scheduled at St Joseph’s Centre in Dublin from Monday (27 July)

As per reports, on Monday (27 July), members of the Services Industrial Professional and Technical Union (SIPTU) are scheduled to begin a 72-hour strike at St Joseph’s Centre in Shankill, Dublin, over a dispute concerning staff regrading and pay recognition.

• Reports indicate the strike action by household and domestic staff is expected to continue until Wednesday (29 July). The workers have previously undertaken three days of strike action in July following unsuccessful discussions with management.
• Reportedly, St Joseph’s Centre, which is operated by St John of God Services, provides dedicated dementia care services and is used by more than 80 people daily.
