Protest reported in Jaffna on Wednesday (22 July)

As per reports, relatives of individuals who disappeared during Sri Lanka’s civil conflict, along with civil society groups and political representatives, staged a protest at around 0800 hours (local time) on Wednesday (22 July), at the Chemmani Roundabout and outside the Siddhapathi Hindu Cemetery in Jaffna to demand an independent international investigation into the Chemmani mass grave.

The protest was attended by relatives of the disappeared, members of Tamil political parties, Jaffna University students, religious leaders, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and residents, demanding an impartial investigation.
