As per reports, the Cologne Marathon 2026 is scheduled to take place in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, on 04 October, with more than 40,000 participants expected to take part in marathon, half-marathon, relay marathon, and school marathon events.

• Reports indicate that the half marathon is scheduled to commence at 0830 hours local time (0630 hours UTC) on 04 October from Ottoplatz in Cologne-Deutz, while the marathon, relay marathon, and school marathon are scheduled to commence at 1030 hours local time (0830 hours UTC) on 04 October from Opladener Straße near Ottoplatz.
• Reportedly, the marathon route traverses the districts of Innenstadt, Rodenkirchen, Lindenthal, Ehrenfeld, and Nippes, with participants scheduled to finish on Komödienstraße near Cologne Cathedral.
• Reports suggest that extensive road closures and traffic restrictions are anticipated across Cologne from approximately 0600 hours local time (0400 hours UTC) to 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on 04 October. Deutzer Bridge is scheduled to remain closed, while disruptions to public transportation services, including multiple KVB tram and bus routes, are also expected.
