As per reports, Desh Bachao Morcha is scheduled to hold a Maha Rally and Kisan Mahapanchayat at Kisan Ghat in New Delhi on Tuesday (21 July).
• The rally is being organised by Desh Bachao Morcha, an umbrella coalition comprising approximately 250–550 farmer, labour and social organisations led by farmer leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher. The demonstration is being held to protest the proposed India–US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA), demand a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP), and raise concerns regarding the dairy and agricultural sectors.
• Farmers and workers from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and other states have travelled to Delhi by buses, trains and motorcycle rallies to participate in the event. Farmer leaders have stated that participants from multiple locations across Punjab are expected to join the gathering.
• The Delhi Traffic Police has implemented special traffic arrangements in connection with the rally. Traffic diversions are in effect from 0830 hours (local time) onwards and may be implemented on a need basis to facilitate crowd management and maintain public safety.
• Traffic may be diverted from Delhi Gate, Rajghat Crossing, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shantivan Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot and IP Flyover. Traffic movement is likely to be affected along Satyagrah Marg, Velodrome Road, Rajghat DTC Depot Road, Rajghat DTC Bypass Road and adjoining stretches.
• The United States Embassy in New Delhi has also issued a demonstration advisory ahead of the rally, stating that an alliance of around 250 farmer organisations is expected to assemble at Kisan Ghat, with participants arriving in the capital on motorcycles.
